It isn't a shocker that rentals have skyrocketed in recent years. Many things are to blame for this situation, including inflation. However, most renters comment that the cost of living has gone drastically up, and the wages have not followed suit. This is a difficult predicament for anyone renting property. With rates going up, one would think that landlords would improve their properties. This is not the case in many situations. If your rent has drastically increased and your landlord hasn't done anything to improve your living conditions, it may be time to reconsider where you're living. Perhaps choose an updated unit in a more modern apartment community.
No Extra Amenities
It's 2023! Is your apartment not offering any amenities at all? Do they not even have a pool? At this stage of the game, if you're renting and you're getting no amenities other than a place to live, and maybe time to get going and rent someplace else. At the very least, your apartment should have updated unit amenities like appliances, flooring, etc.
You’d Like a Location Change
If you'd like to change your location, it would be a good idea to move. Be closer to the action or in a more quiet neighborhood. Over time people's wants and needs change. Don't feel like you have to get stuck in one place simply because you've been there forever.
Don’t Like Your Neighbors
If you don't like your neighbors, it may be time to move. This creates a subpar standard of living and aggravation. Do you fight over the laundry situation? Do they always park in your parking spot?
What You Can Do
So what can you do? The answer is to apartment hunt! You may be surprised at all the available options in your target area. Hit the pavement. Don't just rely on the internet to find your next home. You might be surprised as to what is out there. Set a budget, make a list of your wants, and finally start living in a home you can enjoy.
